MISSION STATEMENT:. The mission of the Van Buren Community Sports Association is to provide a quality sports facility for children ages 4-19 that attend the Van Buren Local Schools and surrounding area. The Van Buren Community Sports Association feels physical activity and good sportsmanship are extremely important in the overall development of our children. The youth programs provide instruction and guidance that develops skill and builds self confidence. The programs do this while stressing fundamentals and providing each player with high quality equipment to ensure safety. The purpose of these programs is to establish and maintain a program of supervised sports for the children through the development of the following fundamentals: Character, Citizenship, Mental and physical health, Sportsmanship, Reverence, Honesty and fair play

VOLUNTEER MISSION STATEMENT: The Van Buren Community Sports Association's mission is to engage parents from the various sporting entities and other volunteers to help support the daily activities and the operations of the Allen Township SportsPlex.

The Meaning Behind Our Mission Statement
WE ENGAGE: Supported by the Van Buren Community Sports Association is the efforts of volunteers through manning the various concession stands, painting fields, field preparation, building and grounds improvements. We believe that a sustained (long-term) commitment by volunteers is the best way to make a significant difference in the condition and operations of the SportsPlex. Regularly scheduled, occasional or one-time volunteering is also important as well.

MORE PEOPLE: Our goal is to encourage everyone to volunteer. We believe volunteering builds a community. Ultimately, we want volunteering to become a way of life for those connected with the SportsPlex; for people to understand that volunteering isn’t just the right thing to do, but necessary for the continuous operation of the facility.
